Strengthening GBV Services and Advancing Gender Equality: A Milestone for ACCESS 2

On 24–25 February 2025, Kampot province hosted the Annual GBV Response Working Groups Reflection Workshop, a pivotal gathering of national and sub-national officials, representatives from the GBV Response Working Group across 12 provinces, ACCESS 2 Strategic Implementing Partners, and the ACCESS 2 team. Funded by the Australian Government’s ACCESS 2 program, this workshop served as a critical platform for sharing achievements, lessons learned, and strategies to enhance gender-based violence (GBV) and disability services.

Driving Progress Towards Key Outcomes

Discussions at the workshop centred on two key End of Investment Outcomes for ACCESS 2:

  • Enhanced Service Delivery: Participants explored ways to strengthen selected service providers in delivering high-quality GBV and disability services to a growing number of beneficiaries across target provinces.
  • Responsive Policy and Planning: The workshop emphasized the need to align national and sub-national policy processes with the priorities of GBV survivors and persons with disabilities.

Strengthening Capacity and Collaboration

Through interactive group sessions, attendees exchanged best practices, refined training packages, and enhanced the use of service quality checklists—key tools that drive program effectiveness. These collaborative efforts reinforce the ACCESS 2 commitment to gender equality and improved service delivery.

A Vision for the Future

In her closing remarks, H.E. Nhean Sochetra, General Director of the Social Development Department of MoWA, underscored the workshop’s achievements and outlined a strategic work plan to support sub-national GBV Working Groups. She emphasized the importance of collaborative action and strategic planning in addressing the evolving needs of survivors.

This Annual Reflection Workshop stands as a testament to the ACCESS 2 program’s dedication to delivering tangible outcomes. By aligning operational strategies with our End of Investment Outcomes, we continue to make significant strides in ensuring that all GBV survivors and persons with disabilities receive the high-quality support they deserve.

Our commitment, in close collaboration with DFAT and other partners, remains steadfast in driving meaningful, lasting change.
