On 12 May 2026, the ACCESS 2 technical team delivered a training session on establishing a data management system for officials from the Ministry of Women’s Affairs (MoWA), specifically the Legal Protection Department. Previously, ACCESS 2 had extended similar support to the Provincial Departments of Women’s Affairs (PDoWA) across its target provinces (Siem Reap, Kampong Cham, Kampong Speu, and Ratanakiri).
The training aimed to strengthen document management and storage related to gender-based violence (GBV) knowledge. It focused on reducing the risk of data loss caused by unreliable computer systems, improving GBV data collection and usage, and enhancing the digital skills of MoWA and PDoWA teams. Ultimately, the initiative seeks to ensure that GBV-related information is managed in a safe, secure, and sustainable manner.

During the session, the ACCESS 2 team provided instruction on data management practices, Microsoft 365 applications, SharePoint Online, and key security and safety measures aligned with international standards. In addition to the theoretical components, participants were given the opportunity to engage in hands-on practice using their own computers, reinforcing practical skills.
Ms Sar Sineth, Director of the Legal Protection Department, encouraged active engagement from the technical team throughout the training. She expressed her appreciation for ACCESS 2’s support and commended the initiative as an important step forward in strengthening the department’s digital capacity.
MoWA and PDoWA play a critical role in extending technical support on GBV service delivery to district and commune levels, ensuring the long-term sustainability of ACCESS 2 interventions. With all four PDoWAs already equipped with the knowledge and access to shared drive systems, this training marks an important step in enabling the Legal Protection Department at the national level to benefit from the same digital tools and capabilities.
As part of the initiative, ACCESS 2 also handed over a new laptop to the Legal Protection Department. The device comes fully equipped with an integrated system designed to support services for GBV survivors.
The Australian Government remains committed to promoting safe, inclusive, and standards-based workplaces across all program environments.
